What is drop shipping?
Drop shipping (or dropshipping) is a supply chain management technique, which is just a technical way of saying that the retailer (you) does not keep products in stock, but instead sends through customer orders and shipment details to the manufacturer and wholesaler (us), who then ships the goods directly to the customer.
With this system, the retailer doesn't have to worry about any of the hassles associated with order fulfilment, such as stock inventory and storage, label printing and application, packing and postage. This saves money on staff resources, office space and materials, as well as a huge amount of your valuable time. It also helps with cashflow, as there is no need to purchase stock in advance of making your own sales.
Sound too good to be true?
Many drop ship companies charge for their services; for instance, through a monthly contract or on a 'per item sold' or 'per order posted' basis. This can work out expensive and can start eating into your hard-earned profits. Many drop ship schemes are also scams, so supplement resellers need to approach these with caution.
